When I first got my metal detector as a graduation gift from my dad, of course I did what most people do, I dug up my entire yard. It just so happens that I live in one of the oldest areas in my city of West Monroe, LA. Turns out there was an old fire pit in my backyard. My Whites MTX metal detector picked up on all the nails that were in the ground. As I was digging I saw a brilliant blue piece of glass next to my shovel head. I thought surely it was broken, but wouldn't you know it, I pulled out the whole bottle. It was perfect, not a scratch or blemish on it.
This picture isn't the actual bottle I found, but it is the same type. This type of Bromo Seltzer bottle was used back in the 1930's. Not a bad find I think.
