Hi guys ! I just realized i forgot to keep you informed about my vacations in Puerto Plata. Here is a link to a web page i've made about it... i only did about 10 hours of detection over a 2 week stay, but the finds were way above my expectations. Enjoy !

Kinda makes you want to stay for the summer doesn't it????

Thanks so much for sharing. I have been detecting since the early '70s and have never retrieved a platinum ring.

Now, my fever's up and it's MONDAY. Thanks a LOT!!!

I just need to write the check but I hate letting go of that money! I hate spending it.

However, my birthday is coming up and I will be getting with Joe for the purchase. I have seen too many great posts on this forum NOT to. I'm gonn go ahead and have him get Minelab to install the Grey Ghosts for me before shipment. THEN...I will be set for a while.

You've got to spend a little money if you're going to find a lot of gold. Think of it as an investment with unlimited upside, John. 1 cache of gold or silver coins and you'd be wishing you had bought two Excals so you could swing one in each hand.

Cheers,

BDA:cool:

Over the years I have had some real expensive toys. (in San Diego) Goldac and D-TEX toys in the 70's; Whites, Fisher 555vlf in the 80's, Sea Hunter in the 80's; Garretts all over the place (in the 90's) and an Explorer with multiple coils back in (I think) '04. BUT...

...not to brag fer sur; I have found more than my share of loot over the years and have paid for every detector I have ever owned and then some. SO...now I am gonna jump in with Excal II 800 and an electric hookah--all before the Spring. (still trying to figure the mechanics of building one, if possible, before buying the Keene Hydro-Air)

Right now the little ace 250 (it's the only detector I have currently) keeps on givin' and givin'. What a hobby! It's the ONLY one I have that actually pays for itself. Archery turkey/deer hunting? No. Woodworking? No. Fishing? heck no! But lootin' the waterfronts? OH YEAH, and each of you know what I'm talkin' about.

Thanks for the reminder. I reckon I need to just bite the bullet and write the flippin' check.
