I figured out how to get my JP Insight 180 target meter to work with a SEF coil on my first Sov GT unit :clapping:

When i got my Joe Patrick Insight 180 Target meter put in my Sov GT control box where the speaker was i was told that if i used a SEF coil the meter might not work but if i jumped some pins in the meter it might work ? well i tryed it and did not like how the numbers jumped all over the place very inconsistent so i took the second jumper off and the meter showed 000 when the SEF coil passed over a target, for the last 5 days i tried to figure out a better way so i tried one of my Sovereign XS-2 Digital 180 target meter,s with the Insight 180 meter both hooked up to the box well guess what ?? LOL they both work just fine with my SEF 12x10 coil i get identical numbers on both meters the XS-2 is on the shaft just below the hand grip it gets the SEF coil wire first and of course the Insight is in my hip mount bag in the control box where the XS-2 meter wire plugs in , the wire is plenty long enough to hip mount my box , i used a few coins to test the idea first a LC both meters 180 ! , a Buffalo nickle 140 ! same number both meters , a silver dime both meters 180 hhmm ? now iam wondering why this happens what is the difference between both meters there must be something wired different in the XS-2 meter that makes the Insight work but only with a SEF coil ? regardless now i have 2 meters to look at to see what the target could be and it really does not add much weight to the set up . So if any one else has the Insight meter that is a way to get it to work if that makes any sense at all . . By the way on my second unit Sov GT Ron is sending me his great 180 meter that works with all the BBS coils Thanks Ron  HH Jim

Jim,interesting way to solve the problem.I got the XS-2 model mix up corrected for you.Got up to 60 here today almost a total ice snow melt off.Might try to find some thawed out areas in a near by park this week. Thanks Ron

Thanks Ron now my post looks intelligent lol , same here all snow melted mid 40,s we get the ocean temps on us regardless of the air temp. I took the Sov out for a short hunt today and with 2 target meters it work prefect found a 1928 wheat and a flat button then my gloves got wet from the muddy cold soil and i quit . Looking forward to using your 180 meter . HH Jim
