since acquiringthe vaqero and the compadre i have used them in situations that have sent other tid machine operators home especially when it's dark and raining.a plastic bag over the control box and away i go.they mostly can't see their screens,no back lighting der i am so sorry! anyway today i took my old ace 250 out for a spin ,it don't pin point properly but it found more in threes hours than the vaquero did in five hours on the day preivous.maybe i hit a good spot.does make me wonder though?it would be nice to have enough money sometimesto be able to buy all those detectors that beckon with better results. maybe the titan 3000xd next. when i win lotto. blowfly hh

I'm a little confused by your post.....You think the titan xd would be better than your Tesoros?

The Ace 250 doesn't pinpoint as well as your Tesoros.........I think you're the third person I've heard that from.

If you think you'll do better with the Chinese made detectors than by all means go that route. I wish all other detectorists went that route ;-). You'll dig far more junk. Some times digging more junk yields more finds......I had my fun with the China made stuff too, but they aren't on the same level as Tesoro.

I've been having really good luck with the Compadre in Iron infested areas, but I wouldn't expect the 5" coil it to sniff out anything deeper than 6 inches. Most targets hit softly and don't scream "dig me", but hit just hard enough to tell its a good target.

You should be able to spank your other detectors with that Vaquero. That thing is a high revving monster of a detector. Good targets scream "dig me".....I highly doubt the Ace 250 can hold a candle to it.

If you think you're missing targets and want more bells...try swinging a Minelab Explorer for a while.....if its there you'll find it, but your arms will be begging for that vaquero.

your right of course digittaltim,i did it again this morning with the ace 250 and i'm sorry,i felt sorry for it it won't happen again.i really missed the vaquero's spot on pin pointing,the ace is to slow.and it's discrimination is not real hot either,maybe i could it to the mother in law she always said it looked so pretty. blowfly hh
