I feel stupid...

I started metal detecting about 2 months ago, and my detector was an explorer SE. Getting an SE as my first detector was a mistake. I told myself I would eventually learn the detector. My friend and I went detecting today, and he has an ace 250. He found way more stuff than me! I wish I would have gotten the 250 or 350 as my first detector!

Sorry you feel that away... its not an easy machine to master its going to take time. BUT.... hang on and tell us what you think in a year or once you have made enough clad to pay for it. By that time i bet your buddy is going to be the one wishing he had bought an explorer. Id be willing to bet the farm he wouldnt out hunt most of the experienced users on this forum. Im not knocking his machine... im saying you have an excellent machine and need patience. Of course the option is to sell it and get yourself an ACE. You need to find someone in your area that has an SE to help cut down on the learning curve.

I agree, once you start putting that coil over some deep silver you will change your mind fast. Keep in mind the 250 only gets about a third to a qaurter of the depth you do with none of the seperation or target ID. If you feel its overwhelming try blocking out everything but the top right corner of the screenwhere the good coins fall until you get more comfortable with it.

Oh, the Garrett's are easy to use out of the box (I started with a Garrett 2500), but the Explorer will get much deeper if you are hunting in an area where there are deep coins/relics. If you're just hunting for shallow clad then the 250/350 will do very well.

Guys, please do not post to his anymore.

I guess my friend decided to play a prank on my account, because I let him stay on Findmall while I was somewhere else.

I did not write this message, my friend did, and I do not feel stupid, so please try to not post anymore because I DID NOT WRITE THIS

Thanks guys

Happy hunting :detecting:
