I dunno if this counts as a "story" but we saw our first Anti-War Protestors last weekend...

It was hot as heck and we needed to get a new kiddy pool for the dogs. So we drive through the post from north to south to cut off about 20 miles on our trip. It was as we were exiting the gate that we saw a commotion going on up ahead at the light and I-77 on/off ramps.

These Anti-Bush/Iraq War folks were blowing air horns, whistles and chanting. A group of about 10 were coming off the curb at the light to walk between cars and yell to/at the occupants. Two guys (one wearing some mismatched desert camo) came up at the light and knocked on our car fender and roof and then tried to get Shelley to open her window to take leaflets. I could tell she was "nervous." I have a post sticker AND a prominent Special Forces ball cap on my dash. So it wasn't any secret I was, somehow, still associated with the military.

I slammed on the brakes (after warning my wife), opened my door, got out, stood up slowly and very softly (read "controlled"), but audibly, I told them I was going over to WalMart & if they were there when I got back I'd run them over.

We returned 90 minutes later they were ALL gone...!

Now it coulda been the MPs, County Sheriff or SC troopers or maybe even just the heat & humidity that moved them along, but Shelley says she's pretty sure it was just ME!

Now THAT'S a good wife!

*Art flexing his flab!*

especially when they invade your "space" and property. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but they have to keep it into perspective!:)
