i dug up a plate

I tried my backyard for the first time and found a piece of a plate. I dont know if my detector picked up the lining on the plate or something near it...what do you think? Its a silver or gold lining...faded away I cant really see

This is going to be a WAG so far out that even the twilight Zone will not touch it..First, there are three possibilities.Another target, and you dug the plate. Two, There was some sort of plating that the detector found.. And, the real Hairy Ape could be Thermo remanent magnetism..The iron in the clay is aligned by the heat of the fire, and triggers a response by a detector..I found some indian pottery years ago that gave a response, and that was the ultimate explanation..TRM is an interesting archaeological tool Cordially NAD
