I don't know where I saw it, but someone a while back did a review of all the coils available for the E-trac or the Explorer.

Can someone give me a link to the post if you know what I'm talking about. I cannot remember who did it or when. It may have been the Explorer 2 he was testing and comparing the coils with. Thanks.

Those tests are great for us FBS users
However , there are no test results for the NEL coils which deserve serious consideration.
NEL coils also carry a 2 year warranty whereas the Coiltek and SEF/Detech coils only have a one year.
My 6 x 8 SEF experienced cord failure after 14 months and I didn't use it that much.

There is no 100% in anything manufacturered and coils are no different. The Detech 6x8 SEF is the onbly coil I use in high trash urban sites and after 6 years of using it 80% of the time on my E-Trac, no issues. On the other hand, I've had 5 NEL coils come in with 2 being stone dead out of the box. My experience is different than others so as they say, sometimes you get the short straw. I have had factory coils die after a month and a dead Minelab coil when you unpack one is not unheard of. NEL is still working through the expoential demand for their products from their factory in the Ukraine but much the way Detech went when their coils took off, they will get there as well.

I can believe the exponential demand part as the performance , cost and warranty combination on the NEL coils is unique. Detech/SEF also makes the 5 x 10 WSS that appears to be a good versatile coil on which I still haven't seen many reviews. Seems it would be a real challenger for coverage and separation like the NEL Sharpshooter
