I don't have to ask Charles G. I have improved the Ace!! Well sort of.......:nerd:

This is the small solar model. It has a switch for voltage and amp selection. Little problem, I can only get one bar on the Ace. I could use it as a supplement to the batteries. They would be trickle charged while I MD. It also has a compartment that charges 2 AA batteries.

The new and improved model. The mega solar Ace. Bad thing is I'm afraid to hook it up. No way to regulate the amps and voltage. It puts out 20+ volts with out a load and 1.5 watts. I may have to work out a few bugs.

I think I just go back to showing my merger finds today. I don't get the big clad totals like I saw many of you that posted. That's OK. I have found so far for the year a 126 wheat's, 5 IH cents and various silver. That is counting the two wheat's I found today:1935,1946 and a lead thing dated 1950. I haven't done as well as last year, but the year is not over yet.

I found some ammo. One shell is live.

I can't get an ID on the live bullet.

This is my weird total. I was in a great area where I have found many coins from the 1800's. Just not today. I have hit it hard. Today they ripped some trees out of the ground and tore down a long stone retaining wall. I could MD the roots of the trees and where the wall once stood. I thought I should have done better. The car is a Tomica 1976 Japan.

I have always said that there is soooo much good talent on Garrett forums. You just might be on to something. Of course you could always capitalize that yourself, and sell it as a kit. :)

That looks interesting solar power. Just wondering about the weight issue?:detecting:

That bottom pic John,
That's a very good variety of finds.
The thing at the top right on the pic looks like a little cannon and they are very popular with Scottish MDers.
I also think that other thing looks like a ships wheel, nice finds man.
Novel idea the solar ace.

Where did you get the cells?

I was just being silly with the solar cells. I bought them at Harbor Freight over the years. I bought the big one when I lived in Fl. I would take the battery out of the car and use it to run a battery powered TV. during a hurricane. That was our connection to the world. I went through three hurricanes in one year and we would lose power for a week. After a hurricane it gets very sunny and hot. The solar cell would keep the battery charged up. It works good on the car and plugs into the cigarette lighter to charge up the car battery. It has a two prong auto wiring plug in the center of the cord that I adapted to a multi - type connector so I can use it on radios or anything with an external power source of 12 volts. My daughter is autistic and likes to listen to the radio at the beach. She can listen all day and no worry about batteries.
I bought the smaller solar charger because it is more convent and does the job powering the radio. It has adjustable power and amps. It also has a compartment for charging two AA batteries at the same time it powers something. It cost me under $10 for the small charger. The big solar charger costs about the same when I bought it. It is on sell now for $11.99, but usually runs $20.

I am sorry, but the cannon is a rusty square nail. The wheel is the second one I have found and I have no idea what it is.
