I didn't have any work today (contractor) So I ran my wife to work this morning as I drove both my boys to the Dentist office. We got back and my wife had about 2 more hours of work as the librarian at our school. Now we live 17 miles from the school mind you. So I dropped my 15 yr old at a friends house in town. My 13 yr old Son decided to sleep in the car while Dad go some hunting done. My good friend recently bought one of those old run down farm houses you sometimes see in town. The house was built around 1900 and really is unlivable. But the 5 acres that came with it is what he wanted. Well anyway I pull up to the grown over house and start beeping. At this time I have about 1.5 hours to hunt. I ran the ATpro in zero. GB was about 80 and ran full blast power. Well this house had 1,000,000 pieces of can slaw. Some gave a rattle beep others were nice coin beeps. Nails everywhere! After picking out some clad in the trash I gave up and just hunted for silver. Notching everything out except 80 on up. By now I have only 30 minutes to hunt. So I'm rushing trying to cherry pick. Time got away from me and I saw I was late to get my wife! I hurry up and go to the back of the SUV and open the hatch. I throw my pouch, digger and propointer in the car and rush off. I go inside the school and my wife still had about 20 minutes of work so I just sat in a chair. Then we go to pick up out oldest Son at his friends house. We then make the 17 mile trip to out house. So I'm taking my detector stuff out to put in my work truck for tomorrow. NO DETECTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had set in up on the side of the car and simple drove off and left it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Within 30 seconds I panic, wife and kids now confirm I'm an idiot and I take off for town. I just knew I was going to get a ticket but didn't. I pull up to the house and there was my ATpro crying. "How could you do this to me?" I picked her up and saw a couple of scars on her forehead from the fall. I tried to make the hurt better but she just won't have anything to do with me right now. I am so glad the ATpro is black. If it had been yellow it would have been gone since it was only about 30 feet from a busy street. I dug no silver. About $2 in clad, 9 Hot Wheels and 1 toy plane and a pizza token. I may have to take the sniper over that yard as soon as I get it. Keep your machine close to you at all times.

I can relate to that Kenny. After a concert in our local park, I drove home, about three miles. I opened the back door of my truck to get my $2000 trumpet off of the back seat and it was not there. Made a very fast trip back into town and there it was right at the corner of the band shell where I left it. I got distracted talking with someone and walked off without it. What is amazing is there were all kinds of people in the park at 10 pm and no one took it.

That should teach you....not picking up your toys when you are done playing. Honestly! Some peoples kids.

Haha love the panic mode over the detector. Domestic duties and your addiction to detecting got u a thinking"wheres my baby"Sound like U almost notched out your black beauty. Yeah thats gotta be a real crazy feeling siittn there or even driving down the road knowing you have left your detector , or even your pinpointer.. By the time I got turned around it was gone......Me and my wife were working for a company years ago and they had given us a bank bag with a couple hundred dollars in it to buy some things. Well she lays it on top of the car before she gets in and we drive off. We realize it was gone and went back looking for it. This was in Phoenix Az. Believe it or not it was laying in the road and non one had stopped to get it......

Last summer I was all pumped up to do some detecting, packed a lunch and some water, drove all the way to a new hunting spot, got out, opened my toolbox.....no detector. I Left it at home! Had to go all the way back and get it...D'oh!
