Last Saturday I placed the order. Today, 1:00 P.M. CST my brand-spanking new CTX 3030 was delivered! YeeHaw!!

Put the battery on the charger, put the unit together, and took it out to the back yard for grins and giggles.

Not a clue what I did, but somehow managed to get numbers on the screen and not much else. Ground is too hard to dig right now, and we're supposed to have 3-6" on new snow on the ground late tomorrow or by Sunday morning. :(

But I'm having fun!

Let me be the first to say congratulations. CTX is the cadillac of metal detectors. Make sure you get connected to exchange2 so you can download software programs. Run in the standard coin program and with the discrimination patterns 1 & 2. Once you feel comfortable with the FBS technology and can recognize good from bad targets and pin point, then download gonehuntingforhistory's ferrous coin and combined patterns. They are great.

Learning the control will take a while, but you need to have that under control.

The CTX users forum on here is great and so is the CTX resource center

Have a good time and welcome to the Minelab world of detecting.

It will get real dark just before the dawn for a couple of weeks, so ask questions.

Learn how to work with TT as soon as you feel ready.

I have less than two months on my CTX and feel comfortable, I didn't say I know a lot I said comfortable. Gone hunting for
History knows a lot. I'm just scratching the surface of CTX knowledge.

Good luck---------------Happy Hunting and Thanks for looking.
