I did a bad thing...

Just to satisfy my curiosity, I went out and bought a Garrett Ace 250. I know, it's blasphemy! I have read all the hype, and had to see for myself. It does seem to be a much more sensitive detector than my quickdraw II. I was digging everything, just to see. Kept digging tiny pieces of aluminum foil at 2-3" deep. I think it might be a deeper machine than my BH, and after getting used to it, I may like it more. For now, the BH isn't going on the auction block though. As redemption, I also purchased a discovery 2200, and it is supposed to be here today. The wife has started sticking quarters in the ground at the locations that she wants to plant flowers... oh well, it keeps me entertained!

She could stick pop tops in the ground and get the same results.

With the way my MD'ing has been going lately, she could put nails in the ground and get the same results! I did get the discovery in today, and I have to say, so far I'm impressed with it. In my test bed, it does a good job of identifying items, but doesn't go as deep as the ace. Seems about even with the quickdraw and the quickdraw II in depth. I'm hoping to get out with it tomorrow and see how it does in the field.
