I have somewhere around 462 minies and carbines that I've dug but I thought it would be nice to purchase some good drops and some paper and brass cartridges and put together a collection a little at a time of all the examples that I can find and afford. It would be neat having them all in a big display where you could see all the different varieties and sizes. Does anybody know of any good sources for me to check out. I would like to get some brass cartidges soon at reasonable prices. Here's some I just got from Harry Ridgeway\the relicman. Thanks for viewing and HH!!

I see some good ones there! Should make a nice display. I have a few different makes and calibers plus I was lucky enough to dig a dropped Henry. I was thrilled to turn it up! Let us see your display when complete. HH!

hi scott. it looks like you got one heckuva good start! somebody once told me there were over 600 different types of bullets used in the civil war. i don't know how true that is, but i know a lot were used! hh,

Thought you would like to see how I display my collection. I use Riker button cases. One case for pistol bullets, one for Confederate bullets and one for Union bullets. These won't hold cartridges but there are several different type cases. I dug about 75 % of these and the rest I bought. I get my cases for Sgt Riker ( Ran Hundley) in Ashland Va. HH. Frank

Hey, good luck, Scott! There's a lot of different and interesting varieties out there. If you go to shows and are wanting to pick up examples of minies that may not have been used around you in your area, minies are still inexpensive when you compare it to CS buttons or plates. No less interesting, though, IMO.

Good luck, partner!

Hey Scott, the Nashville show in Dec. is one of the biggest in the country. Lots of bullet collectors over that way. Might be a bit of a ride for you. But from what I've heard, the Nashville show is a super show to attend.

Also, another distant show is the Marietta show in Marietta, Ga. I've attended that one many times. Always good to attend. That one is in about 3-4 weeks from now.

Let me know if you want more info. I'll email around and get some dates and times for you. If you've never been to a relics show -- give your wife your checkbook, take plenty of bibs for drooling! :)

Hey Scott, here's a link to the show information. (I hope it's not breaking any rules to post this.)

Looks like Nashville is Dec. 6-7 at the Tenn State Fairgrounds.

Wish I could make it over that far. I'd meet up with you and we'd oohh and aah over the relics together!

Hope this helps, Scott. Best of luck in that collection!

Richard
