I D REQUESTED ON RELICS FROM WINTER CAMP

Decided to go back to my old hunting ground (winter confederate camp) found these two relics, which i would appreciate anyone's opinion as to what they might be.

n/t

I would be inclined to think the top one is a trigger from a rifle or hand gun. Looks like something I had as a kid, after I took it apart.
The bottom one looks like someone tried to join two pieces of wire and broke it.

I believe what you have found is the movable jaw from an old slide hammer type nail puller.

See linksLink one

I have a very old one in the shed which is very similar to the one you have found. It has a second little jaw attached by a heavy rivet through the hole in the end of the jaw give a more secure grip. Yours appears to have provision for similar . the pictures in the links of the more modern ones don't have this refinement. If the rivet breaks the tool would be difficult to use, maybe that is why yours was discarded.

Hmmm, a two inch gun trigger or a six inch brake lever.
Ill guess brake lever, unless its two inches long.

Sorry

Got it wrong, the beak or claw bit is facing the opposite direction to a nail puller

Several people wanting to help ID. Any chance for a response as to what the size might be. My guess is the top item is a handle latch, maybe for an ice box or cooler. The hook seats into a loop or hole. The hole nearest to the hook is the pivet and the extra hole is where an optional lock would be placed to prevent access via the handle. Similar to this...

Old topic, but the top looks like a screen/storm door latch/handle to me.
