Could have been a deep piece of iron??? A coin on edge or if it kept moving probably a pull tab that kept floating on you. Just my thoughts.

Yup if its moving its a foil type. If it just isn't coming up? Can? Small item slipping through like a beaver tail or like I had happen last year a 14k rope chain that I had to eventually use my toes to pull out of the hole because it just wouldn't get in the scoop.

While we don't know what it was, never give up .

I hate it when that happens in a current and the target disappears!!

Sometimes it will show up a few feet down-stream and is usually can slaw or a beaver tail.
