I come to you with shame and fear

Shame because today, I was just too tired when I started my hunt to dig everything. Fear because when the water warms up and I hit the lakes again, that I won't be able to dig deep enough to get at a lot of the targets that the AT will hit!! I headed out to Buzzard Gulch this morning after getting a couple of Mexican brisket tacos slathered in some HOT salsa!! Even that didn't get me going, worked too many hours this week and was running on fumes!! The crew was waiting for me when I arrived!![attachment 193224 brobuzzspread2.jpg]

So, I rigged up the AT and headed down into the exposed lakebed and found all I could muster was digging high tones and a few mid tones I usually dig everything that gives a good solid hit in hopes of scratching up some gold, but it will have to wait till another day.
I stumbled and bumbled across the rocky lakebed and dug a lot of deep coins and a couple of nice silver rings!!
Here's the days loot!!

And the trash!! Note the lack of a lot of ringtabs...oh, the shame of it all!!

I got 3 rings, 2 silver and one junker. Here are the 2 keepers after a little polishing.

Still need to work on them a wee bit more with the dremel, but they are good enough for now. A lot of the coins were at 6-8" in an area I have covered several times before...that's my fear when I hit the water. Some had nails and wire in the hole and the AT snagged 'em anyway!! Every time I use the AT, it impresses me a little more. BTW, hunting in Pro mode, Zero disc, Sens 4 bars, Iron disc at 35, GB between 63 and 75.

[size=large]not too shameful a hunt. you loaded up on fishing tackle. that saves some shopping time. that's efficient hunting time.

Had to work Saturday, but was there on Thursday. Did'nt do as well as you though. Found (9) fishing sinkers, (1) fishing lure, (10) bottle caps, (1) standing liberty silver quarter, (3) pennys. Deffinitely going to get a 6.5 x 9" coil for around the rocks!

That's great to get a SLQ out of there!! How come so many bottlecaps?? Are you hunting in STD mode?? I dug a couple yesterday at first just to confirm what me ears were telling me, then I just left 'em there for the rest of the hunt. I was thinking of getting a 6 x 9, would sure eliminate those bottlecaps, but not so sure it will do as well looking past that iron as the DD does. Maybe someone will post something when they get one and give it a whirl.

He is the one who could have lost one of those rings. I think those vultures got him first though, and what you got were a few leftovers:devil:

How did the AT Pro sound on those silver rings? A good audio punch like the Scorp?

If I thought they came out of THAT, I would have thrown my gloves away and sterilized myself in alcohol!! :stretcher:
All of the rings were high tone. Way different from the old 'Stinger. You sure know you got something under that coil though.

Watch your meter when you swing over a good sounding target. If it dips down in the low numbers and then back up, chances are it's a wretched bottlecap. Then flip your Iron Audio on and if it grunts on both sides--bingo, most likely a BC. I dig a couple each hunt, just to confirm what my ears and eyes are telling me. They also sound kinda scratchy to me!!

I hit a bunch of aluminum screw caps that were flattened. The kind that are on those wine drinks. The iron audio does'nt seem to work on them.
