I dug this up a couple days ago and I can't find out what it says or what it was actually. Man I wish I had the whole thing!
 
Printing plate. Everything will be reversed, if you coat it with somthing and press it on paper you will see the correct image.
To me it kinda looks like a pic of an old wood radio?
 
Man that's awesome I pressed it in clay but I can't read or see any of it.

yes i found a plate with part of an old newspaper cartoon strip on it. Maybe lay some lite paper on it and gently with a tilted pencil do a little rubbing to bring up the image. Careful, if lead the surface could be soft. CO
 
try holding it facing a mirror. i found a old Owensboro wagon plate years ago and i think thats how i was able to read it. good luck
