I can understand why the Golden is popular,

Never used one, but using a high/ low. Low/ high. Pulse Induction machine, I can imagine the Golden being what it is. Just hunted a practice field with the Garrett Infinium. Good concession stand. 33 coins, 2 tabs, 3 tent pegs. Not bad considering the only discrimination are the tones. Kinda odd both machines have been discontinued. Pulse Induction being what it is, I have to pick my spots to hunt, open large areas. Definitely not for around pavilions, trashy areas.

I like the tones too, have the litle 4" coil and thats a great combo for trashy spots. Then i got a Equinox and it sounded familiar in 5 tones, like them both.

I own and use the Golden Micromax, original tone configuration. Favorite coil is the 7” WS. It is an awesome park detector. With the WS coil, the four tones are very distinctive.

unfortunately, the Golden was never popular. There were a few of us who really liked it, but for the most part, it was a dud sales wise. Thats why Tesoro quit making tone id machines.

I had the new tone Golden, thought it was a nice machine, but for me, the tones were too close together. I traded it for another machine. Now a Mojave with just 2 tones, low grunt for Fe and very high for all non Fe would have been a good machine for backpacking.

I love My New Tone Golden uMax.
My fave Tesoro as had Vaqueros and Tejon but love tone I.D. I had a Pantera for a short time and depth was not even close to a New Tone Golden uMax. Heard the Golden Sabre I I's are the same. I don't know why the Golden uMax was not a bigger hit?

Not on!y that-they've had the technology for variable two tone like the Tracker lV forever. Have it on my ancient Royal Sabre. Can you imagine a simple Compadre with that feature?? The sales?? Or for that matter-the Mojave??
