to be a lumberman back in these days. Those trees are HUGE and to think they were cut by hand. Look at the length of those cross cut saws!!

My uncles logged through the 30's and i heard the tales and saw pics in later years. Love those old pics! Just a couple miles west of me there is a park called "Cathedral Grove" where some of the last of the huge trees still stand. There are still quite a few on the west coast of the Island here in remote areas.
The video was taken on the highway past my house and the Coombs market is one mile from me. The mountain shown, Mt Arrowsmith looms above and behind us.

in every day. That is some beautiful country there buddy.

Impressive how they stacked them. Wonder how many didin't make it learning how to do that. Sure some awesome timber there. The biggest ones I saw were in California at the Redwoods. Really something to see. Can't image cutting those like you see in those pictures by hand.

area 45 years ago. think I'd a figured a way to live there. Thats park looks a lot like the Redwood stand I went to. Imagine a limb breaking off one of those from way up. Talk about a widow maker. I also like the sound of the frogs in the clip. One of my favorite spring sounds.

Thanks Wayne!!

After our early morning snow and temperature now at 28 degrees and the maybe zero tonight, it was nice to enjoy this little getaway.

I could almost smell the warm forest air,
