i can not find the post, but someone posted about using

threshold up to 38 - i thought that was high, but

yesterday with the earbuds and the wave noise, i had to crank mine up to 32- today i hunted at 28 all day

Watch your ears, man! I would get some some noise-reduction waterproof headphones if I were you.

Max I posted something along those lines. With those crappy Koss Headphones I could not even hear the theshold till around 34. I have gotton the Black Widows to work with the Mono plug. I now have mine set about 17 (no waves) but no higher than 20 now. I am hunting an open screen combined tones.
I can't seem to figure out if I am going to get a threshold break on a deep target like hunting with the Excalibur and reverse discimination? Or maybe I haven't dug some of the right iffy tones yet? Gray Drayton lead me to believe that the lower the threshold the better, just like the Excalibur! Everyones thoughts are welcome.

It was me. After my first fresh water hunt I saw my threshold was at 38. I have since put it down to 30, but that is listening to the sound here in my house. It may need to go higher depending on the conditions where ever I am in the water next. The other day it was extremely windy and they were running a bobcat nearby. With the waterproof Koss headphones the tone is pretty low, so no extremely loud high pictch sounds to blow out the eardrums.
