....To buy another motorcycle.HAH!THOUGHT IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE;DIDNT YA???Anyway, she listened, then said:Go ahead-just dont go out and buy the first one ya find, like last time. The last time,I got thoroughly worked-over by the dealer-THIS time,I am doing some shopping-one dealer already told me they would beat my best deal by $100.00;Last time;I did not discuss it with my wife;;either-and I promised her I would not do anything stupid(my words) again.SO;I took the bull by the horns;and brought it up over Christmas---my wife;God bless her;said OK---my father in law wants me to buy a Gold Wing-They are around$19,000.00;:yikes:I said NO;Wont spend that much for a bike.i have in mind the Kawasaki KLR 650-a on/off road bike..Was quoted$5,675.00 out the door-WITH saddlebags and rear tail bag, from Stevens Cycle Sales in Bay City,Michigan.:cheers:now, all I gotta do is wait for spring-and,oh yeah;get my cash outta my matress.(THAT wont be easy-we got a waterbed)!!!!

650 BSA - candy apply & chrome. Actually, on our first date we looked at the bike for sale. Bought it the next week. She & I rode for a year and then I got rid of it.
Good idea to shop around and get the best buy - if you are in no hurry you have the upper hand in the bargaining, good luck, Steve in so az

Sounds cool to me! :)

kinda wish I had never thrown away my $100 Honda 500-Four. Dumped into a trash bin many long years ago. Had an opportunity once to get a Harley for $650 from a friend (1949 Flathead on a Servicar frame - Cherry red color, shifter on the tank and foot pads. - A beautful bike.) Just couldn't get $650 to save my life back then. Funny - don't think I could do it today either if the opportunity came along today.

Anyway congrats Steve.

Just not that big. I would like an on/off bike in the 250-350 range. I had a small CT-70 as a kid and rode that little bike all over town and then later bought a 550four road bike. The road bike wasn't near as much fun to me. If my new work is close to home it would be ideal to ride to work and back on the backroads to save gas. When I had my CT-70 I could fill the tank for a quarter and ride almost all week. Of course gas was only about 35 cents a gallon and it only had a 3/4 gallon gas tank. Ahhh....the good old days.

Congrats on the new bike and can't wait to see the pics. Please be careful!!

God bless and Happy New Year!!

:wave:That reminds me-i CAN post pictures now-I bought a cool digital camera for me and the wife for Christmas-IF and WHEN I get,you can see it too....:detecting:

people just dont pay attention to motorcycle riders. My dad was almost killed in a motorcycle wreck in the 70's because the ladies car was bigger than my dads cycle and all caution went out the window.
