I BROKE MY LOWER SHAFT ON MY EXPLORER XS AND

I broke my lower shaft on my explorer XS (beware of those revolving doors at the Atlantic City Casinos!) and I'm wondering if anybody out there can recommend a dealer who carries the lower shaft. I emailed Kellyco and called Joe Demarco but neither has given me any response. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks ~Larry~

I broke the lower shaft on my Explorer in the middle and splinted it with two thin pieces of wood on each side (running almost the entire length of the shaft) and taped it up with electrical tape. It's held OK for a couple of years already.

The original lower shaft for the XS is no longer being made and replaced by the newer lower shaft that are the black round shafts that the cable wire runs inside the shaft. The XS were the same color as the rest of XS and the cable run in a grove in the shaft. Now you can get a newer lower shaft from any Minelab dealer or pick up a used one. Maybe even find a used XS shaft also, if fact I think I have a used XS shaft laying around here that I dont use anymore and not sure if it has the small cover on the end of the shaft, but you probably have one on yours you broke. If interested give me a PM with your shipping address and I will send it to you.

If he was looking for a new one, I believe they still have a few in stock. Something to check out at least. I know they still carry the Coil Covers for the original 10.5" Explorer Coil. Good Luck and HH.
