I know i have a lot to learn and time in the feild is the best teacher but does anyone have any tips theve learned they would like to pass around? Im lokking for coins and jewelry. How deep can i the 2500 reach?

Usually coins will "lock on", trash and other items
will jump around. I only used mine less than 3
weeks but I liked it. I sold it in anticipation of
new Garretts hopefully to be released soon. RicharnnTN

Depending on your ground the 2500 will go deeper than you care to dig. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> Start off running your sensitivity at about 6-7 to eliminate falseing until you get used to the machine. Scan slow and practice pinpointing as it is crucial for accurate readings. Pinpointing on the Garretts is as good as it gets anywhere. Make sure the first wind of the coil goes over the top of the shaft and is wound snugly. Some users, including myself, tape the cable straight up the shaft for a foot or more to prevent the coil from picking it up. Good luck.

get yourself some metal-hydride re-chargeable batteries, always use the rain-cover, don't walk to fast, belltones in one direction and not both is usually junk, dig it anyway for now, zero discrim and about 7 sensi. are good to start for coins, master the all-metal later, turn off backlight in daytime, line the arm-holder with sheepskin shaved down and held by velcro, dig carefully and have fun!

I'll bet your still waiting for that "new" Garrett model aren't you. I think you'll be waiting a long time. How do you improve on perfection anyhow?
