Me and my best friend were out hunting for a few new spots, when we found a 200 acre area with a HUGE for sale sign on it. So we had to hit it before they wiped it out. WE came across 3 cellar holes. (I will have pics. soon) very cool place. Its still covered in snow, but that didn't stop us. As we were trying to get an idea of what everything was, we came across a few bottles. Most were old whiskey bottles and some medicine bottles. But this one bottle I found would not budge. I soon found that it had become part of the tree. So, I figured that all these trees were coming down soon anyway................I took it down myself. And got the bottle out with it.

After we got the tree down and put in the jeep, we started digging in one of the cellar holes. We found a whole boat load of stuff. A ton of bottles from 1800's, and a lot of iron relics. We found a pile of old leather shoes, and boots. I mean a lot! Like a few hundred. The kind you would see people wearing back in the late 1600's-1700's. A few buckles here and there. not as many as I would have liked but, still pretty cool. We also found shoe-making tools. So we thing part of this site was a cobblers shop. But here is the pic of the bottle in the tree. I will have pics after this is all carved out.

That is strange!! Now, PLEASE tell me you obtained permission to hunt this place before you went and just started cutting down trees and digging in cellar holes!! From your post, it sounds like you guys just barged right in and started going at it. Please tell me that it ain't so!!

The town owns the land. And my selectman friend told me that any property that the town plans on selling, or developing themselves, we are allowed. He said if you can hunt animals on it, you can hunt anything on it. So you can relax

Excellent opportunity for you to dig and detect before they develop it.
Looks to be a good site .

Sounds like permission to me. Wish we had lax rules like that here in Texas. If you don't have permission, no matter who owns it, you probably end up with either a backside full of birdshot or a night in the pokey and a big fine!! HAppy huntin!!

great finds . sounds like you hit the mother load ! snow is finally melting here in Pa .
