I Benched the 3030

Buried Crap NJ

New member
I used the 3030 for about 30 days straight beach hunting for 79 hrs. I benched the 3030 and took the Excalibur back for a beach walk. I can't conclusively say either one was better that the other. I kept thinking I was missing targets with the 3030 but the Excalibur did not find any deeper targets than the 3030. I hunted longer with the Excalibur 6hrs and it was closer to the 4th of July then with the 3030 so I am not surprised by the target count being much higher. I did get to answer some question. The Excalibur was on a null fest as the beach I hunt sometimes is just iron infested. The way I had the 3030 set combined tones fe line a 24 I was hearing all the iron as a low tone and they were all 35-?? 33-?? so I was happy to see it wasn't any different with the Excalibur. This was an eye opener to me as I now have some options with the 3030 to help hunting on these beaches.I am just sharing an honest opinion of testing. I thought others would like to hear my take thus far.
Here's the take with the Excalibur anyways. Oh by the way a Radio Shack detector would have found the 729.00 MSP Watch it sounded like a garbage can! It was knee deep two scoops.1 merc and a buffalo, Tungsten Carbide ring and little 4 loop silver ring.96 total coins.

Thank you for your very honest post. Many of us are watching and waiting to see what the CTX does as a saltwarter detector. Your post and a few others that I have emailed are saying about the samething. It's awesome in the wet/dry sand but just OK when submerged in saltwater. when compared to their Excaliburs. Thank you for you taking the time to share your results.

I think someone played a trick on you, they must have put a CTX 3030 sticker on a Safari......

There's no difference between the two. Just keep using that Safari and save your money. Little screen, big coil, they both beep. Don't concern yourself with any minor cosmetic differences.

Yes a CTX and Safari are exactly the same. :surprised: Just as a Prius and chevy 3500 are identical just in different packages LMAO . I was just thinking my ACE 250 is every bit as good as my CTX they both find coins.

I agree 100% I just sold my Safari for the CTX3030! I love both detector for what they can do. But because I do water hunting too . If I was to drop the Safari in the water I would be done for day! The Safari would be done forever!

And the difference is?
Well if i must waste my time for starters the ctx 3030 is WATER PROOF it has a faster processor with FBS 2 it has 15 SEARCH MODES it has 1750 TARGET ID SEGMENTS -----TARGET TRACE -----TARGET TRACE PINPOINT

Well over a grand...

I'm ordering one and its going to be put up directly against an Excal II in freshwater, and an AT-Pro on freshwater dry sand. Many aspects will be taken into account, and the hunts will be filmed. No seeded...real undug targets compared and then dug. Good or bad the results WILL be posted. I don't care about stepping on toes when I have the physical proof to back it up. Dry sand beach I have a good idea which will pull more targets just from the sheer speed it can be worked, but I'm looking for Quality targets...not necessarily quantity. The water test against the Excal II is the most important to me. I really hope to see the 3030 pull some targets that the Excal nulls out because of nearby iron. I am very excited to put it to the test. I guess if it didnt outperform I would pull a Max and trade in for an Excal and another machine

Oh wont my safari smokes that 3030 the finds i have are amazing good luck

You can not fight this forum, it is very bias toward the 3030, after all it is the 3030 forum section:lmfao:. It is best to just enjoy the hobby and post comments and success stories in the appropriate machine section. Everyone has their preferred machine, no matter what it is. Your comments are just going to start a flame war though in this forum. HH
