Was some of the best technology fisher ever had.the 1236 started it off a few years back with the ultimate iron hunter that pretty much stopped all the talk about fishers loving iron. Then comes the excel a 6 khz machine that was just as hot on low conductors as high conductors.and super stable.then the pinnacle of there 75 years in my book was the edge maybe it lacked a few bells and whistles that got it overlooked as a top end contender but if you've never used one you would see it would keep up with anything in the depth department and pass a-lot more and target separation is right at the top.there new offerings like the f-75 is a souped up t-2 and its a great detector either one actually but the edge is the last detector fisher of California built and it is quite a detector to deal with if it had some extra features to appeal to a wider audience like variable notching and back-lights and such and put 1000.00 retail price it would of got more applauds.strange is'nt it what a higher price tag does for things
Just some thoughts.I know I left out the coin-strike but I cant speak fairly of it with minimal use .I believe it laid the groundwork for the excel and edge with its variable iron disc design it just liked hot rocks too much in my area and the edge never notices them.
analog or digital (1236 or edge) tough call some days!!
