This small town near where I live, is like walking back into a different time... I love this small town named Brookville. And since I do historical research for our Sheriffs Dept. I learned that one house that stands in Brookville had been the home to a former Sheriff from the 1800's. His name was William H. Gentry, he didnt fight in the Civil War, he was born in 1825 in Kentucky, went to Arkansas and then to Texas where he became a cattleman and later came to Kansas and settled in the cattle town of Brookville, living there until he died in 1917. I was very thrilled to have seen a 1870's plat map of Brookville and that Gentry's house was still standing... so I went and took pictures... The family who lives there now says the house is haunted (I dont know) they were friendly and had no information on the house, or who built it. They were pretty thrilled that I could fill in a lot of the blanks on the history of their house... I didnt ask them yet, but since I plan to provide them with a photograph of the former owner, I am sure they will be giving me permission to hunt this property... but in all honesty, I kinda afraid I would find something cool and break it (Like Vernon did...)

So, what are your thoughts on this property?
