Took coinstrike out for first time this morning..There is an irony here..I owned a coinstrike before. Never used it.
Should have tried it !!!! i thought it was just a fancy CZ made digital..Boy was I wrong.
Went to old park area goes back to early 1900 as park and before that fishing area and who knows what else. This site is littered with lots of trash and old iron...I only used the 5" coil..Have not used 8" or 10.5 " as of now. have taked many machines all types and tried to hunt this area..Almost impossible. I used preset, 5" coil and check this out forgot to ground balance machine..

1 1934 wheat
1 1979 dime
1 1936 wheat
1 button
1 1971 memorial
1 1940 wheat
1 1947 wheat
1 1946 wheat
Best find...................1 1887 Indian Head cent at 7" under a tree root.Had to dig it out.

All good solid reads 26,36,42, and 1 56 reading..very stable machine goes really deep and I just wish I would have tried it before..It's not a reworked CZ. It is afine light weight easy to use (Preset) can not imagine what it will do with 8" or 10.5 coil

Great job Elton, maybe you could give me some C$ lessons. This detector is one of the best detectors in trash that I have ever used. Keep us posted. R.L.

Honestly RL I just used 5" coil and preset (FP) no changes and I forgot to ground balance it..It's remarkable..Wonder why more people do not use these little beauties I was amazed at the depth with 5" coil and how it picked the coins from the trash,,going back in the Am still have an acre to hunt.
Maybe it's the perfect set up with the 5" coil..I didn't try anything else and may never will.HAHAHAH

By the way.thanks for the great e-mail on coinstrike

Even though a Coinstrike has a learning period once learned is a nice machine and surprised its not being made anymore..Wish it didn't call 99% of the rusty beercaps as coins as i would have certainly kept mine...And nope its certainly not a user friendly CZ....

Elton, believe it or not, the factory preset is almost identical to the settings I have found to work best. I believe the sens is 7 and the threshold is 0 in the factory preset mode. I have noticed that when I use a 0 threshold, the audio is mushy. I went to -5 and it was crisp. I have a Sunray small coil for mine and it also works like a charm. You could be hunting that acre for the next year if all you use is the small coil. Keep us posted. R.L.

Did not find as many coins......Did hit some Rusty Bottle caps that read like Silver!! Managed to find 1864 Indiaan Head Cent, and one Mercury dime
1946.No Wheats today. Indian green and covered with crud..Silver funny looking almost grey color..After cleaning I will post pic if you want to view them Sonny whats with the Come on Guys????????????????????????? Explain please !!!

No that wasn't it just the good stuff.. Metal Spear, 1914 Wheat, 1941 Mercury not 46 like I thought, nickle ,two pennies, Key,
and I Aluminum Button..I will try and post pics after coins clean up a little they are all rough....

here' the pics

I did find a wheat cent..eyes are not what they used to be..It's in the picture..All and all I find the coinstrike a very good machine..I have found more than usual using it for two times out. I am really amazed how the little 5" Fisher C$ coil works. The machien is easy if you play with the controls and understand what you have to do for set up.I only used FP and did not adjust any other items. As long as it works like this ..why adjust anything.

I would like to hear more about that spearpoint. Can you post a closeup and what is it made of?

Tom

I can do that jack..It's made of metal so it's not real old..maybe some type of heavy sinker or something.
I'll get the pic in the evening Tuesday Or better yet send me your e-mail i send it direct

hey dan Fisher says they are still making the coinstrike and it might be depleted but it's not yet.
