G'day bob what info are you after mate? I may be able to help a little but I'm still learning myself. I must say that prospect mode is a great feature if you can master it. I assume you will be using it for gold prospecting?

From what I understand in the book it says it only excepts targets up to a certain point. Like 24 or something. I have never even discussed this with an one before.
I what to know all about it.

Prospecting is a true all metal mode that accepts everything, unless you ofcourse use iron mask.

Iron mask has a setting of 0-20 to discriminate out most iron, everything above iron will still signal but at less depth.This 0-20 numbers has nothing to do with ID numbers its just reference numbers to let you know how much iron mask you use at any given time.

Iron mask, even the lowest setting of 1 makes the recovery speed slow, very slow.

Where are you situated bob the weather is bad this time of the year where I am which is Queensland, Australia. Way too risky to head out to the gold fields in the wet season. Going to be about May for me to get out there due to work commitments and days off etc etc. In the meantime its beach hunting for me which is a great test place for prospect mode because of the mineralization. I have been testing depth and stability with a few different sized nuggets, 0.4gram / 1.1 gram and a 5 gram piece both in wet sand and dry. I'm liking the results so far. I need to do more tests before I give a complete analysis.

I am in the great Northeastern US. New Hampshire to be exact. I don't have any access to Gold hunting here but the old coppers and other collectibles that were dropped here by the hoards of people that came threw here in the early years of our Country. Makes for a great selection of finds.
