I am taking my 1st trip to the beach with a detector... what will I need?

I am going to a family reunion in Loxley, AL. on Saturday and am then going to either Gulf Shores, Pensacola, or Mexico Beach for a few days. I use both a Soverign GT and a Tejon but I usually relic hunt and have never beach hunted. With the equipment I have I will be mostly on the beach or in really shallow water. What do I need in the way of a scoop or other digging tool. I usually use a Lesche trowel or Lesche relic shovel. Is there anything else I might want to take with me that I am not thinking of?

Thanks,

J

A folding shovel (damp sand) just because it's easier to shovel out and re detect the spot and if it's out, scrape along the ousted sand.

Or handle scoop and scoop dry sand and sift.

Pouch to put all finds in tied around your waist.

Camel back for ice water if you are really in hot weather. Keeps your back cool and you have water through a valve. Get those at Sports Authority. Nice extra. Works like a back pack.

Dig everything. You never know. Fill holes and throw away the trash!

GOOD LUCK AND HOPE YOU FIND A REAL DIAMOND RING!!!

and the skeeter lotion too if you are hunting in the evening hours. A short handle scoop will work just fine for what you want to do. Good Luck and take pictures to post of your loot!

Cool, thanks. That sound's like a good idea. Camel back, hmmmm.
