I found 2757 pennies last summer. Here are a few pictures my cleaned pennies. The first one is a 1929 wheat and look at the condition. Now look at the rest of the pictures of the modern coins. :ranting: Almost all of these coins are from 2000 or newer. A few of these are from 2010. :veryangry: I have thrown away hands full of my finds because they were so corroded. I guess you can't expect much more from worthless leaders??? HH and Happy Trails...Z

Qhorse I wouldn't do that because the IRS will probably get you more jail time for trying to pass bad money...:nono: I just throw those kind away that you have in your picture. I don't even take those home. I must have dumped 100 to 200 pennies or more out of the 2757 that I found so far. By the way I am using soap that we wash our hands with and water for cleaning these coins. I no longer use fish tank rocks. I can tumble many more coins per load without the rocks......Z

Good to see you Zeek! I save all those rotten pennys in a coffee can,,nearly full, and I've noticed the rottener they are, the lower the signal is getting...maybe in a few years they wont be a problem...

Same here mudpuppy great to hear from you also. I don't want to leave the pennies in the ground to decay to nothing because it could be bad for the worms? Maybe give them bad penny worm disease? :surprised: Zink worm disease? ......Z

Zinc is good for fruit and nut trees, I throw really rotten ones under my pecan tree

Last week I brought a huge jar of coins in , then after they ran thru the counter, I dumped in 2 handfulls of badly corroded zincs. The machine took them all no problem. The only coin the machine spit back out was a foreign copper coin just a tad smaller than our penny.Apparently this machine measures the size of the coin, not the condition. Now what helps is my banks coin counter is a self serve unit, just inside the vestibule, with no tellers watching.

I was going to say, I didn't think the teller would have taken them. Couple of months back I took in a couple of badly bent coins. They would touch them. I thought if it recognizable they would but they won't.

Who would of thought that the banks are just out for them selves? :surprised:

Save all those rotten corroded pennies and send them in a US Postal service flat rate box back to the US Mint/Treasury and they'll send you back $$$.

Guys you have it all wrong, those rotten zincs make for some great fun.
Take them back to a local favorite hunting spot of the masses.
Bury them, torture the newbies with coin spills by the handful.....

Sven I have run into one of your patches and I am looking for you.. Remember what goes around comes around. Cal I thought I would do just that but I am afraid the post office will come after me because I caused so many hernias in the postal service..:clapping: Dennis if zink is good for nuts maybe I can get off of my medications than??? H D Jim I have taken them to the bank and they didn't want them. I was told they throw them away. Bugg the bank employees run the coin machine. I have seen people at those coin counting machines running coins through them but I costs 9 cents? per 100 to do so. I thought it would be worth it but when I get a dirty coin in change I don't like it. So I don't want to be the one giving out those dirty coins. Joe and Rich don't get me going on government and what it used to be like. You guys are lucky my soap box is broken. Other wise we could go on and on. Thanks guys for the great feed back. Enjoyed them all....Z
