and it is printing very well with a little light adjustment. I am going to send it to my mother. She grew up back then and will enjoy it. She must have been a fascinating woman but when you think of it, All the people were tough back then.

I was thinking that I would have loved to have heard the story of Alice's fathers life, in his own words. You can bet his recollections of the same time period would be much different. Hers were of making a home and raising kids, while his would be of working in a mine and a bit of raising hell and coming home when he could.

She remember such small details and I find it amazing and very interesting indeed

I printed it as is, just lightened it a bit and sent it to my mother today. I called and told her it was comin. I think it would make an interesting movie!! Thanks for sharing it with us. He proposed to her the day before I was born

mother in-laws writings came to mind many times. To stick in my mind it needs to be quite a read, and it was. All the moving, changing of jobs, traveling when traveling was not a fun thing, taking care of all the kids, and most every thing else that needed doing.
Can sure see why country's then grew and became prosperous with people with the work ethics and get it done attitude that they had.
Some of what I was doing the last two days, was not fun work, but thinking back on her writings, all my complaints became trivial.

Good one to save and someone THINKS that have it rough, let them read what hardship really is....

to be honest and this is not to stroke anyone, if you meet Alice, you have met her mother.
