Went searching for coins at an old house site. No old coins. The regular flattened out screw caps and buried aluminum cans. I dug this "aluminum can" but here is what turned up. I just am not sure, can you experts verify?
 
That is sweet,, Now you need to clear all of the other junk and start searching for more goodies! That would be a big rosette!

I thought so! I found a US box Plate that had the same attachments. Looked like the US symbol on the leather.

It was one of a couple of times my wife went out detecting with me, I had told her how much I wanted to find a plate, any plate, about 1 hour before that. I need to get her out there with me more!

Cool and great find I found a 1850's militia belt plate and just tossed it in my bag not haveing any clue what it was till I had it I.Deed on a site.
