I am looking for a good but cheap detector. How many of you think Tesoro Conquistador or Minelab Advantage are good choices??

Matt246 ... for the money, no way, no how, can you go wrong with either of the two machines you mentioned.
I would give the Advantage the edge on depth by several inches although the Conquistador is no slouch either.
Both units are quick responders and both separate targets nicely. The Advantage is a tad bit better at eeking out the coins from iron infested sites though.
One important thing to consider is the weight difference between the two. The Conquistador can be swung all day long, the weight of the Advantage might take a little getting use to but you will, and with a smile on your face too.
Both are GREAT detectors for the money <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
Hope this helps you, and of course .. this is only my opinion.
Good Luck
Mike

The Tesoro will probably give you better target separation but the Advantage better depth, especially on high conductivity targets like most coins and silver.

Matt that is with the 10 inch head. which you have to buy separate, then brings cost up to 500.00
