I am having a bit of a problem with Analyze.....

Very rarely do I get the camel Hump. The target ends up being a dime..But the lines either flat line out.Or I get a black line up and down in the middle of screen. Then a red blue and green line drops from top to bottom at an angle to the right side of screen ..Any help will be appreciated..

I have found that on swing does the best and it has to be at the right speed. Also works best for me at stable settings if you are running real high gain and sens seems to effect the Analyze screen.

The only suggestion I can offer is to go off to the side of your target ,wait until the thrshold stabilizes and make a steady swing over the target, pause a few seconds and reswing.Experiment with a coin on the ground to experiment with the swing speed.

It seems to take two passes for me. Rob

What coil are you using? I recently picked up a 12" coil and it wouldn't Analyze in Coin, Relic, or Hi Pro mode, but would in Deep Silever mode. Thought that was strange, not to mention disappointing.

Hey EL, if all else fails, try turning down your disc sens setting a bit when in analyze. If that does the trick, you can make and save a new program with the only change being the disc sens setting. And as long as you are making a new program, the new program can have the analyze screen in the normal trigger position. So, do your normal search in your normal search mode, then select your new program to switch to your analyze program. Not quite as fast as just locking the trigger. I can step you through if you need me to, and it turns out that you need the lower setting... Hopefully one of the other suggestions will help though.

The analyze screen needs to have a period of time of no targets after seeing a target. If there is enough noise to be triggering it within that required quiet time, then it cannot trigger to display the signal you want, or it triggers later and shows the wrong data. If your noise source (whatever it may be) has signals that are as large as your deep targets, you will not be able to see a good reading either.

Sound like if you are using the proper analize technique ,and you dont get a good screen you may be running too much rx gain .

I have had it do that at times also.
Have the coil off to the side of the target. Switch to the analyze mode. Wait to establish a threshold. Hop the coil across the target and stop the swing after passing the target. Hop the coil back across the coil and stop again. May take a couple times at this, but find the sweep speed that gets the response to kick in. Most times in my areas I have the filter dropped down to the 7.5 or 5.0 settings.
Usually when I hop the coil across the target, after I pass the target I just drop the coil down onto the ground surface each time to hold it steady to look at the screen for a second or two before I hop it to the other side. I take that second or so to look at the analyze screen at each stop, and getting a few analyze screen shots to compare each.
I'll repeat usually from another angle (like 90 degrees / X-ing) to give me more analyze screen shots to see what I get.
Finding the good speed crossing over the target and waiting for the threshold to establish first. Adjust filter for your liking.

Appreciate your input..again thank you,,

So I must be doing something wrong in the field..

Frankly I think switching to another program to use analize isn't a good answer. It may work but it's not the answer. IT need's to work weh you push the switch forward. I can usually get it to work if I slow down and make sure the coil is level with the ground. However I get the straight lines at a right angle first too. Also sometimes the analize screen will lock on to the first pass and stay there... I can go to a second and third target and the analize and the number will stay locked on the first good screen. The tone however, will change. It does not do this all the time though.

I have a friend who is going to try to help me.
