Palin's Alaska and those Gold Miners. Maybe it is just me but they seem soooo contrived. Palin is suppose to be such an outdoors man and in my view she does not show it at all. She keeps patting herself on the back, in my view and doesn't even know how to hold a gun. They call it camping when they are sleeping in a 40 ft motor home! It is a political show and even though I am a Conservative I resent them playing games with me.

I like the kids though and would vote for Todd for president before her. That fell is the real deal in my view.

That lardazz in the Gold Miners thing is just a blow hard in my view and if he talked to me the way he does some of the others I would run the toad over.

good comment and i agree. Palin's Alaska sucks! Everything but the scenery just stinks of politics and putting "Kate plus8" on there to try and attract the city yuppie libs was totally obvious.

That bunch on Gold rush Alaska has a couple guys with some wits but i also would take a 2x4 to that mouthy jerks head! Taking kids onto that claim was pure stoopid! Likewise the blonde whining "princess". They also know nothing, if that claim was so hot the owner would be getting rich, not leasing it to greenhorns Duh!

That being said, i still enjoy watching the idiot operating the machinery and digging big holes when he should be trenching to test an area.
The inside word is that they got 16 oz of gold for the season, less than 1/10 of what they should have gotten with that much equipment on even a half decent claim.

Yes, Royal, very painful indeed...I watched all three segments of the Gold Rush this weekend, and a little of Palin...for the same reason Wayne mentioned...anytime heavy equiment is running, or some good outdoor/fishing/hunting footage might be seen, its better than the Housewives of Atlanta...(though now I'm catching that in a whole different light, scoping out the jewelry!)

Regarding Gold Rush, that 92 year old fella thats been living on that claim, and has a great system set up is the one they should be filming! Its frustrating to see all that heavy equipment being wasted, you know if you were there, you'da got shine with a five gallon bucket and a pan, on the first day!...and not ONE metal detector in the group! just sweeping their "campsite" after it was bladed off would have been something...looking for a "honey hole" without a detector, and relying on the dubious skills of an out of work, colorblind, and disgruntled realtor to pan out the color...(shaking head)

They could use the trackhoes to dig deep, grade that gravel out flat with the dozer, sweep it with some detectors, (even the kids) while the other fellows get that trammel set up...All in all, at least they tried to do something on a dream we all have running deep, and added an adventure to their lives, and showed what the power of gold fever is capable of making people do. ...

They should be filming "Todds Life" on Palin...Something we could all relate to, the struggles of a father/husband that was born 200 years too late...like Mikie above...

Palin bellyacheing about that neighbor that was spying on her. What the heck, she is making millions off her fame. That is part of it.

When she hiked across the glacier a few episodes back all she did was whine about how hard it was. What is up with that? I thought she had grown up doing it. I see her shoot a rifle and shotgun and to my untrained eyes it looks like she does not have a clue how to even hold the thing. She was out there with her dad, who I think is probably an outdoors man and before she shoots she says, "Is it going to kick" What the hell she think it is? A BB gun?

That show with the Blond bimbo I shut off in about 10 minutes as I did with the last one. "We are going camping" in a 40 ft motor home and all the convenience and pampering that goes along with it. They are going down the river in a raft and she is in the front left. At one point early on she makes a comment that she would have liked someone else up there to do the work. Puzzy. Then later she says that she grew up on that kind of thing and loves the challenge. Yeah, if someone else did the work. She is lucky she has Todd. Now that guy had done some impressive things. I do feel for him though. I suspect she is a high maintenance woman. No wonder he spends so much time back in the wilds. Her good looks only goes so far, then she is a woman.

I know nothing about Gold Mining but anyone that disrespects his so called friends like that lardazz does ought to be doing it on their own. I have met toads like that and they usually get that way by setting in a bar every night brow beating the weak. I can not stand that type but I guess some do.

So I lower the bar a bit on what I'll watch on TV right now. My wife likes watching Sarah and it's tolerable so I'll watch it with her. The gold dudes are like watching the Three Stooges in the wilderness. Three weeks into the season and they haven't even got their equipment setup yet. Like I said, it's winter and my TV watching bar is set pretty low right now.

a media creation and is trying to live up to what they say. I am sure she is a good person, far better than most in Washington but I also am afraid that it is tainting her. I think she is starting to believe the hype.

herself watches so much Dr Oz, home decorating, and other shows i will not name in deference to those here who keep up the facade of their home dominance that i have invested in good headphones for the laptop and watch Discovery, hunting/fishing shows, and movies on JTV or Netfix online.
We have the "full package" on our satellite TV, several hundred channels and nothing but repeats and garbage! I am considering cutting it back a bunch and staying with the online entertainment. Would not be a problem if i lived close by a gold bearing crick
