I am expecting a new Child in a few days...we are naming her F75

I struggled with whether to purchase a F75 verses and T-8000. Clyde, owner of $#@&*+$@, convinced me that I should purchase a F75 (gave me an additional 5" coil) rather than a T-8000 and a 11" dd coil. I am just coming back into the MT world after being out for 5 years. I am a pastor with no hobbies (don't even play golf) and head up a mission organization called: Mission Link International (www.missionlink.org ... been to East Africa over 40 x's). I recently dusted off my CZ 7a pro and caught the bug again. It really was relaxing going to a local fresh water beach. I have some good sites to do relic hunting in central Virginia and I am looking forward in trying the new equipment.

Questions:

1) Do you think this was the best choice?
2) Where are some good instructional video's and sites? (Give this O boy some favorites)
3) Will I be okay on the dry sand (ocean)?
4) I've got land in Africa that may have Gold. Any advice on searching for gold nuggets or veins? I leave in several weeks for a month.
4) How should I start (setup) my F75 for the first time to do relic hunting?
5) Any good tips for the F75?

I am grateful to everyone for taking time to answer some of my questions. I really need your help so I don't have to come back saying what a crappy machine the F75 is when in reality the real problem is the crappy person using it :)

Peace and Joy ... Rick

Questions:

1) Do you think this was the best choice? Yep! Awesome choice. The F75 cooks!
2) Where are some good instructional video's and sites? (Give this O boy some favorites) Youtube search F75...tons of good stuff.
3) Will I be okay on the dry sand (ocean)? Yes...hot on small gold!
4) I've got land in Africa that may have Gold. Any advice on searching for gold nuggets or veins? I leave in several weeks for a month. I'll leave this one to the gold hunters...
4) How should I start (setup) my F75 for the first time to do relic hunting? I'd start it "tame" and work up. Too much heat can be scary at first! Although some laugh at it, I like to learn a new machine in a school playground...sand and chip bark make for easy, quick diggin' and learning.
5) Any good tips for the F75? Dig some easy stuff to learn the tones and responses to both "trash" and "good" targets. If you don't have one, build a test garden with some shallow, and some Deeeep targets. Play around with the settings to see what works best for you. Some relic hunters love 2 tones....some like 4H mode...some even like dp which assigns a different tone to each ID number.

I LOVE my F75! Not only performance, but amazing weight and ergonomics. The user menu is also super-intuitive.

I am with Mark on starting off a little tame with the F 75. Just leave it in the factory preset modes for a while and then work your way up with hotter settings. I have fairly moderate ground over here in W Tn so I am able to run it pretty hot when relic hunting. Which, I don't do all that often. All metal is good, but I like disc. of 0, 2 F tones and sen. as high as possible. (usally 90-95) Good luck, you are going to love your "new child." HH jim tn

We will have identical twins. You will love the F75. It is a beast. So many different settings it will take awhile to learn it, but man when you do. The relics and money just jump out of the ground.
