Hurricane Irene

I've got a trip this week to one of the Bahamas Islands and wanted to know if anyone here had any information as to shallow water detecting in the sea after one of these hurricanes comes through? Never been to the Caribbean during or right after a hurricane and not sure what to expect? The weather forecast states heavy winds out of the south, south west and where I plan on doing my detecting is mostly on the south side of the Island? Do you think it would be good or bad detecting? Thanks

Any time mother nature changes the landscape of a beach it needs to be investigated with a detector.Sometimes she piles the sand up. But usually there are some nice cuts. But your first priority is to stay safe. I know the storm will be gone by then, but for people on the main land of the US rip tides and rough surf are dangerous. I posted on another forum about how excited I am for this storm to change things. That was when Accuweather had it hitting as a CAT 1. Now they are saying CAT 3. Very dangerous and destructive.
