Hunting with my F4

Not a great experience down at my boating beach..a belt buckle and a screwdriver extension. Very strange that NOT one coin after about a solid hour! They run a daily rake truck through there and maybe that's why.

I was so frustrated that I ended my hunt with out discrimination...and picked up a pocket full of bottle caps. They registered as 7 through 9. I was thinking of blaming my new F4 but in the grassy area picked up a surface quarter ringing in at 82. Located 2 more quarters down about 4" but didn't want to mess up the grass without my digging tool.

So my machine is working (can't lose FAITH).

Earlier in the day I finally tried the "ancient port" (from the 1860's).
Not an easy place to work just a border area between sidewalk and chainlink fence. Across the fence is military with warning signs of "NO PHOTOGRAPHY". Picked up quite a bit of junk with 3 pennies , a dime and a key. Oldest coin a '67. So.. not exactly what I was looking for but I'm keeping the dream alive.

The military base has a beach almost dead-on where the port was. I wonder HOW I could get on there (without getting arrested)? Just ask..politely? <smile>

Hi Joe, don't get discouraged with the F4, I have been using one all summer and it is a great machine. It will find the coins if they are there. I find my F4 a very good coin & jewelry machine, I have found alot of coins, I have had days that I have found 75 coins, (some silver coins) and 6 rings already this summer. I find the id with the DD & the 4" coil very accurate, but the round coil that came with my F4 isn't as accurate id'ing the targets. Maybe I got a bad round coil I don't know. Give the F4 some time, get to know it & it will make you very happy. I am not dedicated to Fisher machines in any way but I will say that the F4 is one awesome instrument. My hat is off to you Fisher/First Texas for making such a great machine with all the extra's you get with it for the price. Heck my wife detects to and likes just the plain jane beep & dig machines but everytime out with my F4 she comes home with some goodies & tells me how much she likes the F4 and tells me how easy it is to use. She especially likes the 4" coil with it. Steve...
