Hunting the beach after a Summer holiday?

Just curious to hear how some of you have done the day after a Summer holiday. I may be visiting relatives near a beach the day after Memorial Day... I was telling my wife, I bet there will be LOTS of trash like burried cans and stuff.
Whatcha think and thanks for your thoughts!

if you go to a beach that people need to have money on them - Like VA Beach - for food, etc. Memorial day is bringing a concert where they sell beer, food etc and have bands all weekend. Lighters are popular items to find along with keys, change, etc.
Good luck and have fun!

It is a great time if you can get through the trash. Beaches (San Diego) have everything from broken chairs to old sofas on them. Trash crews get out real early so you may be fighting with them for land. Also, keep your eyes open and to the ground. A $20 bill does not make a sound on your detector but is a nice find just the same.

The more beer is flowing, the more you'll get int he water !

I try to go the Sunday night at the end of the weekend. You beat the Monday morning detectors and more important you beat the machines that clean up the beach and flatten out the sand. It's not unusual to find me out there until midnight on a sunday night. I don't work anymore so I can afford to do that. Hope this advice helps.
