Hunting partner in Springfield, IL area

I am looking for someone who would be interested in hunting together in the Springfield, Illinois area.

Do you already hunt in Springfield itself? I've heard it's illegal to dig in he parks. Any truth to that? I'm right up the road from you in Lincoln.

You heard right Nathan but if you hunt in the woods part of Washington Park, they don't seem to bother you...... at least as of a couple of years ago anyway.

I called several months ago and talked to someone at the park district and he said that as long as we cleaned up our digs and took the trash we dug up, the park district had no problem with it at any of the public parks.

That would open up a lot of possibilities if true, there is a lot of history in some of those parks. If "someone" was the superintendent of the parks, I would say that we are good to go. The last I knew, and that has been a couple of years ago, a probe or screwdriver was OK for target retrieval, but no digging was allowed in the parks.
