Hunting parks and tot lots for jewelry and coins :Relic ?

Morning friends

I am fairly new to MXT , not metal detecting just this machine; Was wondering if there is some input on hunting in the Relic Mode in tot lots, parks and such??? I tried it a tad and seemed to find deeper and got more solid hits?? If so how do you set it up for best results?? Noticed I found much smaller metal pieceses than in coin mode, such as would be tiny earing or ring.

Thanks for the feedback

In theory relic and coin mode are alike and shouldn't have mayor differences. I have he MXT book and that is what I understand.
My personal advise is to get this book :

http://www.amazon.com/The-MXT-Edge-Jeff-Foster/dp/B000P7JRY8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340737275&sr=8-1&keywords=mxt+book

Read it carefully since it has a lot of info on it, and makes you see the MXT with totaly another perspective, it makes you understand the capabilities of the machine showing you how to set it up. You will read how a machine with just 3 knobs and 3 switches can do things much more complicated than what you would expect.

Relic mode, trigger forward dig the good repeatable signals.
I'm using the old MXT with the 9.5 coil
