Hunting in Music City.:garrett:

Spent a solid week (almost) up in Nashville, save for a quick trip back here last Tues. for a Wed morning Dental appointment. While there dog setting, decided to paint my sons garage so I only managed four early morning hunts at an older park that previously had yielded several silver coins and 2 silver rings. All in all, I hunted about 9 hours in total.

Over all, I managed 2 sterling rings, 1 being a Cub Scout ring that had been there a while as it was 5" deep, and a Religious medal. The Cub Scout ring gave a nice high tone and read 81-83. The other 2 silver pieces were 3" and 4" deep and read 81-82.

Through out the hunts there were a few curio items and did manage 3 wheat cents, all in the 50's, and 4 tokens. The honker watch came out of a volley ball court and it was deep. Pro pin pointer, deep.

Working around the basketball courts did produce a fair amount of clad the one time I hunted the area with the 5 x 8 coil. If I remember correctly, I recovered 9 quarters, 14 dimes, 4 nickels and 21 one centers. For the four hunts I recovered 32 quarters, 43 dimes, 16 nickels and 68 pennies for a grand total of $13.78. That hourly average is about what my first hourly job paid me back in the late 50's. And, I was glad to be making it. Hopefully tabman left some silver around here for me. HH jim tn

Nice going Jim. There's lots of silver still left to be found.:detecting:

I'm wore out and exhausted. I'm taking a day or two off from detecting.

I ordered a new AT Pro today. I'm going to need some tips from the ole pro.

That 9 hours must have been a relief..as I know how much you "LOVE" painting .....

Silvers Good! :clapping: Painting, not so much!:rage: I wonder how rare a silver Cub scout ring is? thats gotta be 1940ish you figure?
Nice work!

Glad you got a few swings in. I bet your son was happy when he got home! I sure like that Cub Scout ring.

The Cub Scout ring, mud, does seem to have an older look about it. I found a Boy Scout one a few winters back while woods hunting that also was sterling. William, he had kind of hinted that if I got bored he had paint for the garage. Hmmm! Actually, that is the second time I have painted that sucker. Thanks all, and take care. HH jim tn

At least you got out and made some battery money! By the way if you ever wanna come to WI and hunt let me know, my garage needs a new roof! :)

Unless you only have a 6' high roof, Ben, then nope. If I can't reach it from a 6' ladder, it either doesn't get done or I call the wife. (Yeah, right!) I have the handy mans phone number on speed dial. What part of WI? HH jim tn

I always get excited when I see silver or gold in the hole. Nice hunting Jim. You may have made an older wage, but I bet you enjoyed it more working at your own pace.
