New AT Pro owner. Had an hour of daylight when I got home from work and took it out for the first time. I was hunting an iron laden site that has lots of nails and other pieces of iron. I have watched several videos of the AT Pro working in iron and was impressed with the low amount of iron falsing. That wasn't my experience today. I seemed to be getting a lot of falsing off of iron nails and other pieces of iron. Many of the falses sounded pretty sweet and were what I would call repeatable signals. I was hunting in Pro mode with no iron discrimination so I could hear everything. Sensitivity was 2 bars below max. 95% of the iron falses were mid tones. I dig a lot of mid tones in search of buttons and other low conductors so the falses will be especially bothersome if I can't find a solution. I know one hour with the detector isn't nearly enough to learn its characteristics, but I would appreciate any advice on minimizing iron falses that would shorten my learning curve.
