Hunting in an invisble dog fence...

I went out yesterday with a buddy to an old house that dates to the late 1800s with a huge yard. Now much of the yard has been pushed around, but I'm betting there had to be some good spots somewhere... now on to my question...

Is there a way to get rid of the annoying noise that the detector makes from an invisible dog fence or do I have just have to grin and bear it? The yard also had lots of iron falsing as coins as well, which normally doesn't happen for me. I did manage a few clad finds and a silver charm, but I was expecting more from this yard.

Any ideas for me? I tried using noise cancel several different times. I even took the sensitivity as low as 5 and was still getting chatter...

I've hunted around a couple of them.

You can keep riding the sensitivity but probably can only run in the single digits.

well other than turning off circuit, all you can do is lower SENS but that may not really help at all. I normally move far enough away from chatter to make detecting possible.

As far as iron, realize the older a property - the more lost junk esp. iron nails will be sitting in the ground. Sometime you just have to dig a lot more trash to get the good finds laying underneath. No easy solution as I see it. Good luck!
