Hunting beach in relic mode?

Why do I hear the MXT users use relic mode at the beach?
 
What benefit does it have on the beach that the C/J mode does not?
 
I don't hunt on the beach but I've experimented with relic mode breifly and noticed it is less chattery than C/J mode. I never could get used to relic mode so I always use C/J but that would be my guess. The MXT is kinda noisy and I would think it would be even noisier on the beach with the wet sand. Remember to try the salt mode of the ground balance switch if it is not GB'ing correctly.
