I feel so envious of you guys in other places , watching all the posts , and all the old things that you guys are finding its great i live in Australia sure its got the gold fields in certain areas but on the history side it sucks, we go back to around late 1800,s at best I love reading the items you find keep it up

I'm from Sydney, Australia, and it's funny because my wife asked me how I'd feel about moving back to Canada. My first thought was that I'd have to fly back home to Australia to get to the goldfields. We have some of the purest native gold in the world and the largest goldfields by volume. It's funny because I usually feel bad for our overseas Detectorist friends and many of them wish they were here in Australia for their Beach Combing and Prospecting opportunities. We have plenty of buried treasures of all kinds just waiting to be found. If you are into more exotic digs for the sake of Archeology, you are always able to take a trip to Egypt or (or similar) try your hand and I'm sure many people you meet online would be happy to have you join them on a Civil War hunt or a beach in the Bahamas looking for treasure.

I live in a Sydney suburb and they just dug up a car park (the land was worth about 16 million dollars) to lay the foundations for a massive city building when they unearthed Australia's oldest pub! Bates back to the very early 1800s or late 1700s. In a very modern twist, this old structure cut from Convict Sandstone is now going to be contained inside the building as a relic of sorts. They're going to build around it. Not even ten blocks away near Sydney's busiest freeway (and amusingly right next to my prospecting Supply Store) they dug up a VERY old building from the same era whilst preparing the lay foundations for yet another structure. With McDonalds on one side and an aquarium across the road (and situated on a major road), this site was scoured for many months to remove relics and extract history. They're just starting to build the building over it now. Nobody knew that either of these building existed and they do not appear on any of the old maps. There's always something special out there to be found!
