Hunting at the Farm

Mason Jarr

New member
Other projects have taken up my time lately, but I was able to get out today for a hunt. I went to an old farm that I've been working. I dig all good signals because there's usually some interesting items along with the coins. Here's what I pulled from there today:

A 1920 plain Merc, and 1934D, 1945S and 1946 plain Wheaties.

A mangled Sterling ring. Looks like a class ring, but it doesn't have any markings on the sides.

A decorative butter knife (not sterling) and a straight razor.

A harness hame.

I also found a Tootsie Toy fire truck that was mangled beyond salvage and a lead racehorse and rider that was broken right behind the rider's saddle. I didn't take pics of those. It was good to get out and find a few items though.

nice looking treasure. i know what you mean about other projects taking up your time. nice to get out and swing once in a while.

That's a great hunt in my book :clapping:

Great finds and thanks for the pictures and the descriptions. I found a relic years ago that you just indentified (Harness Hame) and that's nice to know. HH

Now those are some fun and interesting finds!! I love digging up various things...even though I love old coins the best...it makes it fun and interesting to tie a story to it. Beautiful Merc too!!! Congrats!!

Glad you got out and made some really nice finds! The knife & razor is neat, I would like to see the racehorse. Great job

Here it is. I didn't take the time to White Balance my camera, so I apologize for the tonal quality. Since I needed something for the scale, I decided to add the V Nickel I found the other day. The horse and rider appear to be made from lead or pewter, but I'm not positive.

I like the derby horse and rider. I wonder if it went to a game? Great find and that V nickel is in great shape, way to go!
