Hunting at Hilton Head Island?

airdon

New member
I'll be in Hilton Head at the end of the month and am new to MD'ing. Are there any private beaches that I should be aware of that I may accidentally wander onto adjacent to public beaches. Never beach hunted before. Would like to start at the public beaches and wander the coast as much as I can, are areas that may be off limits posted?

Thanks,
airdon

Airdon,
you won't have any problem if you start from the public beaches. I generally park @ the Coligny beach end of Pope Avenue.
You can walk the length of the beaches with your detector that way with no hassle. Just stay away from the vegetation way up in the dune/dry sand area. Happy Hunting, I was planning a trip to Charleston or Tybee but the hurricane's effect on gasoline supply has queered that idea for w couple of weeks at least.
