Hunting around playground equipment

When hunting around metal playground equipment I get a tremendous amount of feedback and false noises. Does anyone have a suggestion for a setting that will greatly reduce or eliminate all the false noise/feedback? Thanks in advance!

Have you tried setting sensitivity down a bit or switching to semi-auto? Maybe trying on a 5" coil will help a good deal as well as it won't be so sensitive to the large metal equipment. I noticed the same problems around some playgrounds myself, but the above options worked out fine.
Hope this helps.... HH, Mike.

Ted,
Mike gave you good advice. I might add that swinging perpendicular (heading in) to iron as in playground equipment, re-rod in sidewalks, etc. will usually allow you to get in a little closer for better isolation and target ID (make sure you are using variable tones) rather than swinging along side it. The signal pattern at the front and back of the coil (double-d) is narrow there but wide from either side. Side sweeping catches the iron faster. This method can also be used to good advantage when hunting in high iron (as well as non-ferrous trash situations (especially with a small coil). When you come upon large iron targets underground that cause nulling, etc. work your way around the signal going away from and coming into it checking for multiple small signals which might be being masked by the iron. With variable tones on, you may be able to audibly hear a different tone from the junk target which may be good. Hope this helps.
